Mappa, meaning “napkin” in Latin — grounded in a fundamental social interaction embedded in culture: the conversation over coffee. Beyond formal or informal meetings with new people or acquiring new information, a simple coffee break with individuals with whom we share meaningful dialogue often generates new ideas — at times significant or even groundbreaking. These ideas are frequently sketched on whatever is immediately available, often a napkin, as history has shown many times.
The democratization of design represents the expansion of approaches to creation and the opening up of design possibilities to creators. The goal of the democratization of design is to innovatively reflect socio-cultural development and technological progress.
The possibility of creation is a manifestation of freedom and authenticity. Creative expressions are the result of authentic views and opinions. Opening up possibilities to the creative process creates unlimited space for new ideas and approaches. Innovation is a key factor for development and growth.
Note can take the form as a visual metaphor for such simple sketches arising from shared communication, discussion, dialogue, and ideation.
